Gold Coast City is not only the perfect tourist destination but is also the perfect location for the growth and development of business. One of Australia's fastest growing city's is also home to a thriving and modern business community. This is borne out by some of the winners of the Gold Award for Business Excellence in the area.
The presentation started with a description of an IMS. A case study was used to show howrisk management can be used to integrate effectively the quality, environment and safety requirements of ISO standards into a single system, which results in a holistic set of documents making the process efficient and less time consuming . Using this technique makes it easier to implement management systems and thus comply to the ISO standards to achieve and maintain certification.

The Case Study-How looking at the 'people' side of a business boosted profits, energy, enthusiasm and performance, on 10th February proved to be of great interest to attendees.
Attendees joined in work-shopping a real live case study of how one organisation moved from redundancies and a reduction in working hours to full production and restoring passion in the workplace.
A 2008 Gallup poll of the Australian workforce found that a staggering 82% of the Australian workforce is disengaged at work, 21% of this being people who were "Actively Disengaged".
An IOC survey indicates that 60-70% of all corporate change programmes are regarded as having 'failed', mostly because the people were not engaged in the process effectively.
Within an organisation, it is amazing how much knowledge, talent and creativity is locked up in the minds' of people. People are our most under used resource.
This knowledge is not new, yet organisations continue to wonder why so many initiatives to improve quality, performance and profitability fail to reach expectations. Unless we communicate with, understand, and engage our people we will continually come up short in executing our plans.

As former State Manager of the world-renowned Dale Carnegie Training Organisation and a founder member of the National Speakers Association, David has played a prominent role in the training and development industry in Australia since 1983 ... this continues today through his company Break Through Training.
David's business experience spans a number of years with a Sydney based shipping organisation, firstly as accountant and then for twelve years as CEO. Moving to Melbourne in 1983 he took up the position of State Manager with Dale Carnegie and built an award winning sales and facilitator team. During this period David became one of the few trainers in the world to be accredited to present the entire range of Dale Carnegie Programs.
David has relocated to the Northern Rivers area of New South Wales and is currently providing corporate training, executive coaching and corporate facilitation by combining traditional methods with leading edge communication processes such as Neuro Linguistic Programming and DISC behavioural profiling.
The Gold Coast sits between Brisbane and the border with New South Wales. It is one of the fastest growing regions in Australia both from a population and industry perspective.
