Joseph A De Feo, President, Juran Institute

Joseph A De Feo is President and Executive Coach with Juran Institute. As a leading Executive Coach he is recognised worldwide for his training and consulting experience in enabling enterprises to achieve business excellence. His varied areas of expertise include: coaching executives to understand key factors in driving enterprise-wide change programs, developing and deploying breakthrough management principles like Lean and Six Sigma, and working to deploy client Strategic Plans. As a leading subject matter expert Mr. De Feo leads his team to help clients increase sales, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction through the deployment of system-wide transformation programs. He has supported executives in many industries including health care, manufacturing, consumer products, defense, financial services, government, and education. Mr. De Feo's research and counsel is published widely in many international publications, including: CIO Magazine , Industrial Management , MWorld Magazine, Pharmaceutical Processing, Productivity Digest, Quality Digest , Quality Progress and Quality in Manufacturing, Wall Street Journal, and others. He is the co-author of two books. Six Sigma Breakthrough and Beyond, co-authored with the late Dr William W Barnard and published by McGraw-Hill in 2004, is a popular resource and presents a roadmap for integrating Lean and Six Sigma into the strategic and tactical framework of an enterprise. The second, Quality Planning and Analysis for Enterprise Quality, was co-authored with the late Dr. Frank Gryna and Dr Richard Chua . This university text has been used by many professors around the world. As a frequent guest speaker at international conferences, Mr. De Feo is consistently rated as one of the best speakers. He has been a guest lecturer at MIT Sloan School of Management, Columbia University , Wharton School , and New York University. Mr. De Feo serves on the advisory boards of the Joseph M. Juran Center for Leadership in Quality at the University of Minnesota 's Carlson School of Management, the Six Sigma Forum, and the Organizational Compliance and Ethics Group. He is a senior member of ASQ. Mr. De Feo earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Western Connecticut State University and his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Education from Central Connecticut State University . |
David W Parker, Senior Lecturer, UQ Business School

Dr Parker is a senior lecturer in the Strategy Group, UQ Business School, Queensland University, Australia. He has held positions as Reader in Business Operations Management, Bournemouth University , UK; Project Director for the Smart Region Initiative (Queensland government funded research) a consortium comprising Unisys, Microsoft, and Bay Technologies. He was a lecturer at The School of Management, Cranfield University; was Head of the School of Operations Management at the Business School, University of the West of England, and also at Manchester Metropolitan University. His consultancy and research interests include SME transitioning to e-commerce capability, and strategic service operations management. He has presented at international conferences and his most recent book publications are Managing Projects, Managing People (2008) Palgrave-Macmillan and Operating System Models in Operations Management: An integrated approach (2008), Cambridge University Press. |

Mario Pennisi is the Chairman, Australian Organisation for Quality Queensland Inc (AOQ-QLD) and Chairman of Progressing Business Institute Limited. He is a former President of the Australian Organisation for Quality Inc (the National AOQ Body) and former Chairman of AOQ Inc. He is a MJ Ahern medallist, Fellow of AOQ-QLD (FAOQ), a Fellow of the Institute of Metal Finishing (FIMF), a Senior Member of the American Society for Quality (SMASQ) and an Honorary Life Member of the Australasian Institute of Metal Finishing (now the Australian Institute of Finishing). Mario Chairs the Gold Awards committee for AOQ-QLD. He also edits and publishes Progressing Business eZine for AOQ Inc and Coatings and Fabrication, a trade magazine for the coatings and fabrication industries. Mario has trained and consulted in quality systems for many years, particularly in the Coatings industry. He chairs 7 Standards Australia Committees and sits on a further 7 committees as well as being a member of the Management and Business Standards Sector Board of Standards Australia. In previous years he managed an electroplating shop, a University Department's laboratory staff, facilities and budget and built up a conference management organisation. |
