National Laboratory Management Award
The National Laboratory Awards are available to laboratories which stand out above other laboratories for their exemplary, sustainable management activities.

The Australian Organisation for Quality (Queensland) Incorporated (AOQ-QLD™) is a stand alone member based not-for-profit association registered under the Queensland Associations Incorporation Act 1981 Section 15, Incorporation Number IA16979.

AOQ-QLD™ has always purported to be what it is, ie a networking organisation for quality management and Business Improvement individuals and organisations providing training, networking, consulting and auditing services.

The AOQ-QLD™ rescinded its membership of the Australian Organisation for Quality Inc (the National Body) in September 2007 because, in the short term, the Council could not see a reasonable return on investment for the dues that were levied and for the time spent in participating in the activities of the National Body.

AOQ-QLD™ is a very responsible and forward looking organisation, being at the forefront of improvement strategies for business and now has ventured into the energy conservation field, as this activity impinges on the sustainability of enterprises.

AOQ-QLD™ operates six Divisions: Aerospace, Aged Care, Entrepreneur, Regulated Research Development and Manufacturing (Pharmaceutical), Six Sigma and Software Systems Engineering. Regional Groups operate in Townsville and Rockhampton.

AOQ-QLD™ sponsors and mentors student academic activities at The University of Queensland and Griffith University and provides specialist external lecturers in all three Brisbane based universities. Conferences are co-hosted with The University of Queensland, Griffith University, QUT and Monash University.

AOQ-QLD™ conducts training in related fields on a regular basis, both in Queensland and other States. During 2008, the various Divisions of the Organisation will have co-hosted four conferences in Aged Care, Six Sigma, Pharmaceutical and general business. Plans are in place for six conferences in 2009. Conferences and Forums are conducted in a number of States.

AOQ-QLD™ owns the copyright to the Gold Award for Business Excellence, which it has developed over a decade and which is conducted as a State-by-State and National Event.

Auditor Register

The Management Systems Auditor Register is an Australian registration for management systems auditors .

Registration is only available to people who have proven expertise in auditing .

All AOQ registered auditors will be expected to undertake professional development to enhance their skills and knowledge in auditing, business principles and the relevant standards .
All AOQ registered auditors are allowed use of postnominals of MAOQ(RPA) or FAOQ(RPA)

Registration Requirements for the Management Systems Auditor Register

Now to 31st December, 2007

Auditors currently registered with IRCA and/or RAB-QSA - Annual Fee $250.00

must be a member of an AOQ.
must within six months of registration, supply a Certificate of Competency from ISTO re ISO9001 and/or ISO14001
agree to a continuing professional development programme .
sign the AOQ-QLD Code of Ethics

Auditors currently not registered with either IRCA or RAB-QSA - Annual Fee $250 . 00:

Must be a member of an AOQ
Provide proof of competency in a recognised auditing course . See table below
Provide proof of competency in a recognised business course . See table below
Provide proof of competency as an auditor through a witness audit at own cost .
Provide proof of knowledge of ISO9001 or ISO14001 ie ISTO Certificate
Sign the AOQ-QLD Code of Ethics .
Agree to continual professional development
Allowed use of postnominals of MAOQ(RPA) or FAOQ(RPA)

For re-registration July 2006 to June 2007, all registered auditors to provide a log of audits, prove competence to the auditing/business course developed by AOQ by 31 st December, 2006 and to a witness audit to be conducted prior to 30 th June 2007 and then every 30 to 36 months .

From 1st January, 2008

For new auditors and auditors crossing over from IRCA and/or RAB-QSA - Annual Fee $250.00 plus CPI .

Must be a member of an AOQ
Provide proof of competency in a recognised auditing course See table below

Agreement to witness audit every 30 to 36 months .
