Kevin Chambers
Kevin Chambers is the Export Advisor to the Australian Made Campaign and will give an overview of the program and its intentions and progress to date. Until June 2003, Kevin’s family owned and operated Kevron Plastics Pty. Ltd. (www.kevrontags.com). Kevin’s father had started the business in 1952 and over the 51 years that the Chambers family managed Kevron, the business grew from a small domestic focused plastics manufacturer, to a world competitive player in their field of Plastic Identification Products.
The most “famous” of these was and still is the “Kevron Keytag”. In the last year of Chambers ownership, Kevron exported 35 tonnes of them to over 25 countries!! One of their major domestic successes was the RACV membership tag. It was purpose designed for this client and Kevron held the contract from 1987 until 2004, when a decision was made to change to membership cards.
Kevin is now semi retired and has spent the last three years as an Export Marketing Advisor to the Australian Made Campaign. This role involves working to increase the export sales of their licensee base. In addition, in February 2005, he completed a two year appointment by the Minister for Industry, the Hon Ian Macfarlane, to the Chemicals and Plastics Leadership Group (www.cplg.org.au). Mr. Charles Jamieson, (former Managing Director, Austrade), rates Kevin in “the top ten small business exporters I ever met” in his thirty four years with the organization.Back to Top
Abstract:
Kevin Chambers:
Winning a competitive advantage through Australian Made Branding - Would 96% recognition add value to your brand?
Learn how the Australian Made logo, the product symbol of Australia, can help your sales – both here and overseas. The Australian Made Campaign is undertaking a joint project with the Federal Government to promote the logo as an export brand, with pilot programs in Los Angeles and Bangkok. This has exciting implications and competitive advantages for both domestic and export sales. Back to Top
